We finally got a contractor after working most of the Fall of 2011 trying to determine what we needed done and who to hire. The contractor is to enclose most of the lower level (and add a bathroom, utility room with a larger water heater, a recreation room and an owner’s room), to add interior steps, to remove the old decks and add new decks along with a mid-level deck, to replace the siding, to add room doors out to the decks, to improve much of the electrical system including moving the incoming meter, add ceiling fans, add all new cables to all rooms for cable TV, and much more. Along with this work we are also having our HVAC contractor come in to move the main heat pump to the other side of the house and to add a new second cooling/heating system for the downstairs. A number of other projects are to be coordinated along with this activity.
The project is supposed to take about two months and then we will be able to get the house into the rental market sometime in early May for 2012. Soon we will also have to talk to a pool contractor in order to put in a new pool.
